My Running Kicks

Adidas Women’s Ultraboost

So… kinda sorta love these shoes! I’ve gone through all sorts of running shoes trying to find the right ones for me, I’ve taken the treadmill tests where they watch your foot strike, talked to other runners, read blogs (hey we’ve got something in common), you name it.

I’ve always been told I needed stability shoes which in case you didn’t already know, it’s the equivalent of wearing bricks on your feet. So when I ran in the stupid stability shoes I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere since my feet felt so heavy. That’s when I went rogue, I don’t need a machine to tell me what shoes to wear, I’ll figure it out on my own. I picked a couple other terrible choices and then finally came across the Adidas Women’s Ultra Boost (they have a men’s version as well). Okay honestly, I looked at them and thought “Really Allie… Adidas, when was the last time you purchased anything from Adidas? What are you in High School? Ugh, you’re going to regret this one too.”

The first time I ran in them they hurt my feet SO bad. I was so used to the stability shoes and with the material of these Ultraboosts being more like a second sock there is little to no support for the sides of your feet, but that’s what made them so light. I gave it about a week of running a couple miles here and there and really started breaking in the shoes, after that my feet were feeling MUCH MUCH BETTER! I’ve seen great results in my running and I couldn’t be happier. Since then I haven’t had any problem with them (other than when we run outside in the mud and rain and they start smelling like cat pee if I don’t clean them fast enough) and in fact just purchased a second pair.
